The first couple of months we should not expect any tangible traffic (influx of visitors) from search engines. Search engines are rather inert, and even in the case of a successful optimizing series of your articles for the low-frequency queries, their hitting in the top SERPs will be probably not earlier than after a few months.
That is why at an early stage of development of the website SMO methods of site promotion (promotion in social media) are highly relevant – social networking service, forums, ratings and other non-search ways of attracting visitors (traffic) on the site. A huge advantage of SMO promotion in comparison with traditional search engine optimization (SEO) – it\’s almost an immediate response to the actions you made to promote your own site.
Let\’s say you have published the announcement of your article in some social networks, and you will be able to see influx of visitors from these social networks at once. About a year ago I got almost all the main traffic (flow of visitors) not from search engines, but from social networking service, forums and other SMO objects of promoting.
Only then, with the growth of your project and the emergence of new articles that after a successful internal optimization and correct internal linking will get into the top SERPs on bass (and maybe even on midrange) searches, the main stream of visitors will go from search engines (search engine traffic). In the meantime, we will be content with social media traffic.
We have to try to obtain a momentary main traffic (visitors to the site) in the early stages of site development through the promotion in social media. This way you will be able to get your first regular readers and admirers of your talent. And, maybe, back links to your project will gradually appear.
In any case, at the initial stage of the project, if you wish to achieve success, then you should work hard. It will be especially hard against the background of the almost complete absence of visitors (traffic). But everybody passes through this period when you want to drop everything. Do not lose heart and hope!
